                                                                          MRI RF Coil Design Engineer


InkSpace Imaging’s vision is to transform the MRI experience for every patient by providing superior comfort and performance at lower cost with non-threatening lightweight MRI receive coils that are customized to each patient. We target to offer a wide selection of flexible, tailored, lightweight MRI coils for Diagnostic Imaging and Multi-modality Systems, enabled by innovative lower-cost printing technology combined with unique MRI coil designs, that increase patient access to MRI at elevated levels of comfort and performance.


We are looking for a highly self-motivated RF Coil Design Engineer to join our growing team at our flexible electronics manufacturing facility in the Tri-Valley of the Eastern San Francisco Bay area.


In this role, a successful applicant will:

  • Design and develop RF circuitry for novel flexible MRI receive coils.

  • Implement new amplifier, PCB layout, and resonant component design to meet safety and imaging standards.

  • Ensure design compliance with federal and international safety standards for medical devices (ANSI 60601-1, IEC 60601-2-33, and ISO 10993-5/10).


An applicant must have:

  • Experience in the design and development of RF circuits for production-level medical devices. MR-specific RF design preferred but not required.

  • Experience in new product introduction (NPI).

  • Proficiency with circuit board design software and electromagnetic simulation software for device performance analysis.

  • Experience with computation software such as MATLAB, MathWorks, Python, etc.

  • Familiarity with network analyzer operation and circuit analysis.


Additional preferred experience in the following:

  • Familiarity with flex PCB design is ideal.

  • Quality Management systems that are 21 CFR PART 820 compliant.




  • BS or greater in physics, mathematics, or engineering.

  • Minimum 10 years working experience in fast-paced product development and manufacturing environment in the medical device or RF industry.

    • Experience in MRI and medical device industry preferred. Those with experience in wireless design should also apply.
