InkSpace Imaging Appoints Arvind Kamath, PhD, as Vice President of Engineering
Veteran technology and engineering leader brings deep expertise in advanced materials, flexible electronics and manufacturing scale-up to support InkSpace Imaging’s continued growth and innovation in MRI coil technology.
PLEASANTON, Calif. — September 23, 2026 — InkSpace Imaging, a leader in next generation lightweight MRI coil technology for human and animal health, today announced the appointment of Arvind Kamath, PhD, as Vice President of Engineering.
Kamath brings extensive experience leading technology development, engineering and operations for advanced hardware technologies, with expertise in materials science, flexible substrates, process development and manufacturing scale-up.
In his new role, Kamath will lead engineering at InkSpace Imaging as the company continues to advance and expand its portfolio of flexible MRI receive coils for pediatric, adult and veterinary imaging. His focus will include product and technology development, engineering execution, design for manufacturability and the continued scale-up of InkSpace Imaging technologies for broader clinical adoption.
“Arvind brings exactly the combination of scientific depth, engineering leadership and manufacturing experience we need as InkSpace Imaging enters its next stage of growth,” said Peter Fischer, PhD, CEO of InkSpace Imaging. “Developing a high-performance MRI coil that is lightweight, flexible and comfortable for the patient requires us to rethink conventional approaches to both materials and engineering. Arvind understands how to take complex technologies from development through scalable manufacturing, and his experience will be invaluable as we continue expanding our technology platform and product portfolio.”
Prior to joining InkSpace Imaging, Kamath held senior technology and engineering leadership positions at Ensurge Micropower and Thinfilm, where his responsibilities included technology development, engineering, operations and the scale-up of flexible-substrate manufacturing related to solid state microbatteries and RF devices.
Earlier in his career, he led materials, process development and technology integration teams at Kovio and held engineering and management roles at LSI Logic.
Kamath holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
“InkSpace Imaging is redefining MRI coil design by replacing conventional rigid, heavy coil architectures with ultra-lightweight, flexible receive coils that conform closely to the patient”, said Kamath. “I’m excited to join a team that is applying advanced engineering and materials science to a very practical clinical challenge. My focus will be on strengthening the engineering foundation that allows us to continue innovating, scale our technologies effectively and bring the benefits of flexible MRI coil technology to more imaging organizations and patients.”
InkSpace Imaging’s flexible MRI receive coils conform closely to patient anatomy, delivering higher image quality, faster and more efficient workflows, and greater patient comfort. The company has expanded from its original pediatric focus into adult and veterinary imaging applications, with solutions designed for use across major MRI platforms.
